Work Santa

While we're in posting mode, here are some Santa shots. Matthew's work had a nice party for kids, complete with a Santa.
Henry was pretty into him.

And even got a present. A nice party.

We got a whole lot of snow. Today we went sledding on the nice slope in front of the Capitol.

Henry's Patriotic Revue

Our neighbor Ky, a marine helicopter pilot and fabulous dresser, took Henry and Emily on a private tour of the Capitol. Awesome.

Henry was so moved he improvised the following patriotic revue. Thanks Ky!

Halloween

This was the first time Henry was big enough to get Halloween, and he really got it.

At school the day before, he wore this pumpkin costume, which he also wore last year. (Check him out.) Cousin Amy Kaplan made this!
For the main event, however, Henry let his Presidential freak flag fly. He and Emily (mainly Emily) cooked up this Abe Lincoln outfit.

Once he understood the general principle of trick-or-treating, he was very enthused.


The last stop of the night was at his friend Alice's house. They had made some truly amazing pumpkins. All in all, a great evening.

We haven't posted in ages. In the meantime, Henry has memorized the presidents, his newest obsession. Here, he recites them using a placemat with all their faces as a crib sheet. [Edit: new version with subtitles. (!) ]

Henry Glamor Shots

We're up in Vermont visiting Amy and Melissa for New Year's. Amy is a great photographer, and took these shots at lunch the other day, posted for grantparental printing and framing pleasure.



Henry didn't make it to midnight, but the adults had a pretty good time nonetheless.
